In a nationwide effort to reduce prison populations and recidivism, Lean On Me USA Inc. seeks to partner with organizations, foundations, and individuals who practice, promote, or provide leadership, opportunity, and mentoring availability to returning citizens and at-risk youth. The partnership brings under one umbrella, already functioning entities to exploit the efficiencies inherent in a multi-provider approach powerful enough to make a difference in societal thinking and action.

IN YOUR DARKEST HOUR IS WHERE YOU WILL FIND YOUR BRIGHTEST LIGHT
I realise that it is hard to believe that someone really cares. I know so many of you are tired of hearing the same old words over and over again and still the darkness surrounds you. Pain and bitterness engulfs you while the stain of your past haunts you. I really get it, I really do. So many times I wish I could have died just to get away from that darkness. So many nights as I lay in my prison bed, I could feel evil around me, THE DARKNESS SURROUNDING ME. I DO NOT CARE IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE MY WORDS, BUT I WILL TELL YOU, I WAS THAT MONSTER, I WAS THAT WALKING EVIL, AND YES, SOCIETY HAD EVERY RIGHT TO PUT ME BEHIND PRISON WALLS. HOW COULD I CONTINUE TO LIVE WITH ALL THAT I HAD DONE, HOW COULD I FACE A BEAUTIFUL WORLD WHEN ALL I KNEW WAS DARKNESS.
GOD LOOKED DOWN FROM THE HEAVEN ABOVE AND SENT TO ME THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD, AND THAT LIGHT WAS OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST.
Brothers and Sisters, I know what living behind prison walls can do to your state of mind. I know the depths of despair. I also know that SATAN wants you to believe that HOPE IS NOT POSSIBLE. I AM A LIVING WITNESS THAT IN THE HEAVIEST OF SHADOWS, JESUS CHRIST IS THERE. When you feel that the weight of the world is too much, when you feel yourself lost in pain and heartache, REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE NOT ALONE. JESUS CHRIST IS THE LIGHT OF THIS WORLD, AND RIGHT NOW HE IS REACHING OUT TO YOU BEHIND THOSE PRISON WALLS.
BROTHERS AND SISTERS, I KNOW HOW PRISON CAN MAKE YOU FEEL. I KNOW YOU MAY THINK THAT THE BIBLE IS FAKE AND THAT THERE IS NO GOD. THAT IS THE VOICE OF SATAN. HE WANTS YOU TO WALLOW IN DESPAIR. HE CONTINUES TO ECHO THE VOICES OF DOUBT AS HE TRIES TO PUT OUT THAT BEAUTIFUL LIGHT. ALL I ASK OF YOU IS TO HOLD ON, DO NOT GIVE UP. IT IS IN THESE DARKEST HOURS WHERE YOU WILL FIND YOUR BRIGHTEST LIGHT.
Right now, I should not even be here. I should be dead and in the ground. I had given up. I HAD ALLOWED SATAN TO WIN. SITTING IN MY PRISON CELL, I MADE A KNIFE, AND JUST AS I WAS ABOUT TO END MY MISERABLE LIFE, I HEARD A KNOCK ON MY CELL DOOR. WHEN I LOOKED UP, ALL I COULD SEE WAS ONE WHITE OLD MAN STARING AT ME, SURROUNDING HIM WAS A GLOW THAT I COULD NOT EXPLAIN, A LIGHT THAT PIERCED THROUGH THAT DARKNESS RIGHT INTO MY DARK SOUL. I PUSHED THAT KNIFE UNDER MY PILLOW, I LISTENED TO HIS WORDS. IT WAS ON THIS VERY DAY BACK IN 1995 THAT MR. HENRY SORELLE OPENED UP THE WORD OF GOD, AND IT WAS IN THE WORD OF GOD THAT THE LIGHT OF JESUS CHRIST OVERCAME THE DARKNESS THAT WAS IN ME.
RIGHT NOW, TODAY IN 2025, I WANT ALL OF YOU STILL BEHIND PRISON WALLS TO KNOW THIS TRUTH. IT IS EASY TO LOSE SIGHT OF HOPE WHEN YOU ARE SURROUNDED BY DARKNESS. I NEED FOR YOU TO BELIEVE THAT JESUS CAN TRANSFORM YOUR PAIN INTO PURPOSE. I NEED FOR YOU TO BELIEVE THAT JESUS SEES YOU, HE HEARS YOU, AND HIS LOVE IS UNCONDITIONAL. I NEED FOR YOU TO BELIEVE THAT YOUR PAST DOESN’T DEFINE WHO YOU ARE TODAY, AND IF YOU TRUST IN HIM, HE ALONE CAN BREAK EVERY CHAIN, HEAL EVERY WOUND, RESTORE YOUR BROKEN SPIRIT. JESUS ALONE IS YOUR LIGHT IN THE MIDST OF THE DARKNESS THAT SURROUNDS YOU.
LET ME CLOSE BY TELLING YOU A VERY TRUE STORY. There is this little girl, we all know her as BABY J. When she was born, she could fit right into the palm of your hand. She was born with a hole in her heart. When I looked at her pictures, all I could see was this little baby girl hooked up to dozens of tubes, trying to live. I shared this picture with all the men in prison who were dealing with drug and alcohol abuse. These men, who once thought of no one but themselves, began to stop thinking of their pain, of their hurts, of their sorrows. ALL THEY COULD TALK ABOUT IN THE AA CLASS WAS ANY NEWS OF BABY J. THESE MEN DID NOT FOCUS ON THE DARKNESS OF THE DRUG ABUSE OR THE ALCOHOL ABUSE THEY HAD TO LIVE WITH. IN THE MIDST OF THEIR OWN DARKNESS, THEY FOUND A WAY TO SEE LIGHT FOR BABY J, AND IN FINDING THAT LIGHT FOR A LITTLE GIRL THEY WOULD NEVER SEE OR KNOW, THEY FOUND LIGHT FOR THEMSELVES.
IT WAS IN THIS LIGHT THAT THEY KNEW IT WAS A GIFT FROM THE GOD ABOVE TO HELP THEM TO OVERCOME AND TO BELIEVE ONCE AGAIN. MANY OF THOSE MEN FINISHED THE AA AND DRUG CLASS, NEVER TO GO BACKWARDS AGAIN. AND SO, I WANT ALL OF YOU BEHIND PRISON WALLS TO TRUST IN GOD, BELIEVE IN HIM WHO SENT HIS ONLY SON TO THE CROSS. WHY? BECAUSE IN YOUR DARKEST HOURS IS WHERE YOU WILL FIND YOUR BRIGHTEST LIGHT, AND THAT LIGHT IS JESUS CHRIST, THE LIGHT OF THIS WORLD.
